The terms governing your use of the Float installment plan platform.
Last updated: November 2024
By accessing or using floatpay.org and the Float installment plan service, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
Float provides a service that converts eligible credit card transactions into structured monthly installment plans. Float is not a credit provider and does not issue new credit. Float facilitates installment arrangements using your existing Visa or Mastercard credit card account and the DebiCheck authenticated debit order system.
You must be a South African resident aged 18 or older with an active Visa or Mastercard credit card account to use Float. By using the service, you confirm that you meet these requirements and that you are authorized to use the card account you connect to Float.
You agree to: provide accurate and complete information when registering; maintain sufficient funds in your linked bank account to cover DebiCheck debits on their scheduled dates; not use Float for any unlawful purpose; notify Float promptly if your card or bank account details change.
Each installment plan is a separate agreement. By confirming a plan, you authorize a DebiCheck debit mandate for the scheduled monthly amounts. Float will debit your bank account on the dates shown at time of confirmation. No interest is charged on Float installment plans.
Float charges a facilitation fee to the merchant or, in split-from-statement cases, a setup fee to the cardholder. The fee structure applicable to your plan is displayed before you confirm. Float will never charge fees not disclosed prior to confirmation.
Float's liability is limited to the amount of fees you paid to Float in the 12 months preceding the claim. Float is not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental damages.
Float may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms or if we are required to do so by law. Active installment plans remain in effect after termination unless cancelled per the cancellation process.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the Western Cape High Court, Cape Town.
